This site is saying CO is the top state to aid homeless and affordable housing, while GA is ranked #2. Boise is definitely not a place to try and start over, unfortunately, we have people that are native Idahoans that can no longer afford to live here or find affordable housing and are left with little solutions other than to leave. We left the affordable housing availability about 2 years ago and rental rates are still increasing at $2-300 per month across the board. I take 3-5 calls a week from people in a panic whose lease is about up and they are finding out to stay their rent will increase $900+ what they are currently paying and all the resources I know to send them have nothing available to help them. To qualify to be approved to rent they are looking at you making 3 times more than what they are asking in rent, so you especially screwed if you are a single one income household making a median salary.
