I have been noticing a lot of news about people dying from Coronavirus much earlier than the first reported cases so that can only mean that the virus was transmitting much quicker and quieter than we anticipated. Knowing this, I have a feeling that the illness that I had earlier in the year was Covid.
I’m curious if anyone else in the Boise area was also sick around this time with symptoms similar to the flu or a cold but that it was worse. I don’t normally get sick, in fact the only time that I’ve gotten the flu was over 10 years ago when I had my first flu shot. Since then I maybe catch a cold once a year. This year it began with a breakout of cold sores, which I’ve never had before, it was followed by sore throat, stuffy nose, lack of energy, etc. Initially it wasn’t too bad, it really did just feel like a cold and it kinda went away after a few days. After about a week of feeling fine and my cold sores disappearing it came back with a vengeance. All the original symptoms but about 10 times worse.
The reason why I think this was covid and not the traditional cold or flu is based on the number of people in my work around the same time who were all experiencing a range of symptoms. A handful of my coworkers were out sick for a month and it literally spread throughout the whole building. A friend of mine who doesn’t work at my work also was sick within the same period with pneumonia without a known cause.
Judging by the relatively low number of people in Idaho, especially Boise, that have tested positive have me thinking that it could be possible the virus swept through most of Boise and that we now have a ‘herd immunity’.
