Ex-NFL Player Darren Sharper Settles Lawsuit w/ 3 Women Who Claimed He Drugged & Sexually Assaulted Them
Former NFL player Darren Sharper has reportedly reached a settlement in his lawsuit in which three women accusing him of drugging and sexually assaulting them back in 2014.
The former Green Bay Packers player–who’s currently serving 20 years behind bars following a multi-state rape case–was issued a lawsuit by these three women back in December 2015. Two of the women say they were drugged and then raped by Darren Sharper, 46, after meeting him in a West Hollywood night club on January 14, 2014. The third victim says she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Sharper the next day at a Las Vegas nightclub. After he was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in January 2014, women in other cities came forward alleging similar attacks.
Darren Sharper was convicted of drugging and raping nine women in Los Angeles, Nevada, Arizona and Louisiana. He plead guilty to the charges and in 2016, a New Orleans judge sentenced him to more than 18 years for the attacks. The judge said a federal pre sentencing report indicated there were at least 16 victims. The sentence in LA is being served at the same time as the others around the country. Sharper is currently serving his 20 year prison sentence and is up for parole in 2024.
Darren Sharper–who was once considered a potential Hall of Fame–previously played for Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints.
Details on the recent settlement are not yet public, but will be made official once all parties sign off on the paperwork.
